PivoTrack - Tracking system for trains, wagons and personnel

The 'PivoTrack' system is based on GPS-GSM technology. It offers railway companies a total monitoring package for tracking their rolling stock and personnel. Positioning is successful wherever there is GSM coverage. Because of improved asset management, railway companies can decrease the amount of capital fixed to rolling stock and improve their profitability.

It is possible to receive information on fleet locations via a computer with an Internet connection or via a GSM or MMS mobile phone.

The system includes a positioning database, enabling the operator for example to optimise maintenance intervals. Wagons may also be equipped with sensors providing information for example on temperature, pressure, shocks received and on the use of wagon doors.

Danish railways (Banedanmark) is an example of operators that use the 'PivoTrack' system.
